With more than 15 years of public accounting expertise serving entrepreneurs and their closely held businesses, Matt brings his integrated approach of client service to Novak | Costello.
In addition to traditional accounting, audit, and tax compliance offerings, Matt provides a wide array of business consulting and tax planning services for the firm’s clients. He is also a leader in the firm’s not-for-profit and outsourced accounting practice areas.
Matt possesses extensive experience in serving clients in all aspects of the real estate and professional services industries where he has guided his clients through complex business transactions, accounting system implementations, and business process improvements.
Over his career, Matt has also developed expertise in the not-for-profit sector through his role as an outside auditor and tax preparer, and he regards the engagements where he serves in an outsourced CFO capacity to be especially rewarding.
As a firm believer in leveraging technology to drive growth, Matt is accomplished in many cloud-based accounting and business solutions. He regularly consults with a wide range of small businesses regarding selection and implementation.
Matt earned his Bachelor of Sciences with a degree in Accounting from St. Norbert College in De Pere, Wisconsin. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Illinois CPA Society.
